The “Ministry of Helps” Training Program consists of 15 classes (3-4 hours in length). Continued support and resources will be provided for students who complete the program. Upon completion of the course of study, a credentialing process is an option to the students for Certification in Christian Counseling.
According to Ephesians 4:11, the Lord gifted the church with individuals to “train Christians in skilled servant work (equip the saints), working within Christ’s body, the church, until we’re all moving rhythmically and easily with each other, efficient and graceful in response to God’s Son, fully mature adults, fully developed within and without, fully alive like Christ.” The Ministry of Helps is part of that “equipping the saints” in that it trains the laity of a church body to come alongside hurting and wounded people within a congregation, facilitating healing by their servant-leadership. This Lay-Counseling Training Program will take individuals that have a desire to serve and equip them with tools of ministry to reach people in need. This service is done under the guidance of pastoral leadership, providing motivation for the church laity to serve one another in the context of Scripture.
